Newman, formerly known as Sebastian was finally adopted a few weeks ago and he is thriving in his forvever home. Newman was dropped off at a shelter in Kentucky with his sister when he was a puppy. He and Honey (adopted in February) lived in the shelter for more than three years, and in that time no one adopted them. They were the favorites of the volunteers that run the shelter and they were much loved. As much as they loved the dogs the women in the shelter knew that they wanted them to get out of the cage they were living in and have a life.
In May of 2009 NNEDR agreed to take them out of the shelter and try to place them. We hoped we could place them together, but that was not meant to be. In the many months the dogs were with us we never had one family want to adopt them together. In January we made the hard decision to separate them. Although we are sure they missed one another on some level they each found their forever home within a couple of weeks, they each have dog friends to play with and families of their own. We are so happy with the way things turned out for these tow and the families that adopted them. They are special dogs that have touched a lot of hearts on their journeys to their forever homes.
