Gus Gus

An update from Gus's Family:

This was Gus and Pluto, our 11 yr old dog. This is the first of many trips to the beach in Maine. Gus was so cute the first time he put his feet in the water. He would run away from the wave, just like a little kid. He also loves to dig in the sand with Jacob. Gus has brought our family so much love and joy. His personality is sooooooooooooo sweet.
Have you ever known a dog that actually watches TV? Animal planet had this show about puppy olympics and Gus sat there , his eyes glued to the screen and would bark if I changed the channel. He really thinks he is human. Yesterday he mastered the art of running and jumping into my bed to get me up. He is so funny. He loves his toys that you passed onto him from your home. When our son Dan had his brain tumor removed it was like Gus knew not to be roudy with him. He would crawl up into Dans lap and just cuddle. Dan's brain tumor was not cancer after all. It turned out to be this rare tumor called DES, that was first studied in 1988. It affects children between the age of 1- 19 years old. Dan turned 20 July 14th. Typical Grover, has to wait until the last minute to get something done. The treatment is surgery. No chemo or radiation. It very rarely grows back. Gus saw our family through some of our darkest hours.
Waiting for the final results of his tumor were just nerve wrecking.
Gus was always there ready to cuddle. No matter how sad we were , he was there to put a smile on our faces. Thank you so much for raising such a loving , great puppy. I will keep in touch and send more pictures.
Hugs, Anna Grover and family
