Sophie. Sophie's story is all over our website, but in case you did not read the ENTIRE thing. Sophie was the first dog we picked up in Hartford CT and she is the reason this rescue was born. While we went on to rescue more dogs and find them forever homes Sophie became a part of our family. When we picked her up she was a cowering, terrified pit bull puppy that had been badly abused by people and lived on the streets . She did not look at us or wag her tail for the first few weeks and at times we thought we had definitely made a mistake, but she came out of her shell and she has grown up to be a beautiful, confident dog and we love having her in our family. Sophie is a wonderful breed ambassador as well as welcome committee for the new dogs that come into our house from the shelter. She is silly, sensitive and LOVES to swim.
